There's something special about a woman on a motorcycle. It's both empowering and freeing. Short women have an extra challenge when it comes to riding motorcycles, but that shouldn’t stop you from enjoying the wind in your face and the sense of adventure that comes with hitting the open road.
Most motorcycles that are manufactured are built to accommodate people between 5’7” and 5’11” which is the average height of European men. The average height of American women is 5’4”, so motorcycles aren’t built for our average height women, let alone the shorter women.
Despite this, there are plenty of motorcycles that have lower seat heights and a shorter seat-to-foot peg ratio, which is what you want to look for as a short woman. Cruisers for example, often have a more relaxed riding position and the lower seats make them easier to mount and dismount. There are also a variety of smaller motorcycles, like the Honda Grom and Honda Money that are ideal for shorter riders. Ultimately, it's important to choose a motorcycle that feels comfortable and manageable for the individual rider.
Whether you plan on cruising down the highway or taking on challenging off-road trails, women who are *vertically challenged* shouldn’t accept anything less than a motorcycle that fits them just right. With that being said, we realize shopping for a motorcycle is a little bit more difficult so we’ve compiled a list of motorcycles to fit those with a shorter inseam.
