BMW seems to have targeted beginner adventure riders, or simply those who don't want to be overwhelmed with the additional weight and inertia with the G 310 GS. To keep the price point low, it doesn't get all the bells and whistles of it's bigger siblings, however ABS is standard, as well as inverted forks, and some adventure bike neccessities like a skid plate and luggage rack.
