Learn From One Another // Tav's Ducati and Harley Davidson Motorcycles

Why did you choose your Harley Davidson Fat Bob, your Harley Davidson Night Rod Special, and your Ducati Diavel Carbon?

I carefully chose my Ducati Diavel Carbon, Harley Davidson Fat Bob, and Harley Davidson Night Rod Special because of their looks and performance. Aggressive, curvaceous, and eye-catching features of the motorcycle lure me in first, and then the power and the handling. The performance of the bike should send chills up my spine. When I get off it and start walking away, I look at the powerful machine and that feeling remains, and I want to go for another ride.

How did you get into riding?
At first, it was all about the image, and the look. I never thought about riding when I was a kid. There were not that many motorcycles riding around when I was growing up in New York City. When I was in college, I had a friend that had a sports bike, and he would arrive on the scene at parties on it. His bike was gorgeous and he got a lot of attention. One day, I asked him about riding, and he said, “sit on the bike and just twist the throttle, rock back and forth on it, then let’s talk.” I did and I got hooked.

I bought a Kawasaki Ninja 650 a few months later. I dedicated that entire summer to learn how to ride that bike and improve on my riding skills. The real test of my dedication was when my car was having problems and I had to rely solely on my bike. I had a job interview with a company two hours away from my house, so I chose to ride to the interview instead of catching a taxi (rideshare didn’t exist at the time). It was proven I could, but I didn’t get the job.

What inspires you to ride?
Wow, It has to be the sheer exhilaration of launching myself out there and being able to take on the streets freely.

Why did you start your account? (passion project or full-time)?
I started my “Bobba_Fatt” account as a side passion project to my main account. With this page, I was able to gain knowledge and share my experiences of riding and learn more bike customizing ideas. I started gaining many friends over the past two years, and some are riding friends. Now the side passion project has become my main account!

What would your top tip be for someone getting into riding?
Ride because you want to ride. It’s that sincerity that makes other riders like to see more. The community loves helping others that want to do it because of the passion for riding.

Tell us about the most exciting adventure you’ve taken on your bike.
I would have to say my first ride from Los Angeles to Santa Barbara was the most exciting and the most challenging. Instead of going on the interstate a group of friends and I decided to take the “scenic” curvy canyon route. I was still new at riding at the time. There were some slight declines when taking the curves on the path. It was frightening, and also hard because I was looking at the scenery while doing it!

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our audience?
Riding motorbikes is a life long learning experience. For sure, a lot of us have a lot to share, we also have to lot to learn from one another. From Riding tips, bike build tips, video, and picture tips, as well as product recommendations, I have given some and have gotten some. Let’s all contribute. “Ride hard by using your head, but don’t be a hard-head”
