Why did you choose your Triumph Scrambler 1200 XC?
I've been in love with this bike since the first time I saw it, because it's simply the perfect mix between the two worlds I love; adventure and style. The only problem was that I was too short to ride it. I'm "only" 5'4" and I didn't reach the ground properly. But then I was lucky enough to work together with both Triumph Motorcycles in Scandinavia and Öhlins Suspensions who customized and lowered a Triumph Scrambler 1200 XC for me that I later traveled Sweden with. I love that bike so much, it really is that perfect mix that I've always dreamed of.
Tell us your full story, how did you get into riding?
My mother is the one who got me into riding, she’s been a biker herself since her 20’s and bought me my first bike to practice on when I was 17. The pictures of her on a motorcycle in Bali from the late ’80s got stuck in my head as a kid and I’m sure that it has something to do with what I’m doing today.
How did you know you wanted to travel long distance on your motorcycle?
When I started dreaming about my first trip to Eastern Europe I understood quite quickly that I had to make a road trip out of it if I wanted to see all the 20 countries I wanted to see. It just felt right to do the trip on a bike, I never even thought about doing it differently
What inspires you to ride?
I read a quote once that said “One life. Just one. Why aren't we running like we are on fire towards our wildest dreams?” I can’t wait for it to happen if I know I can make it happen now. My wildest dream is to see the world, not to become a manager somewhere.
Why did you start your account?
To be honest, it was never my plan to become an influencer or anything like that. I had a private Instagram account where I posted photos for friends and family from my first trip, but my dear mother refused to use social media but still wanted to see my photos. So I opened my Instagram profile so she could see my photos in her browser, and then people just kept finding me and now I'm so incredibly grateful for every follower, like, and comment I get. It's an amazing community!
Tell us about the most exciting adventure you’ve taken on your bike.
Every adventure is exciting in its own way, but I loved riding in Japan. I was craving for something different, so what's better than a country where you don't speak the language, don't understand the alphabet, and have to ride on the left side of the road? I think all of us have our own picture of Japan or Japanese culture. Japan has affected people all over the world, in one way or another. I had my picture of Japan when I started my trip, but I came home with a whole different view.
What would your top tip be for someone getting into riding?
DO IT! It's the best thing in the world! Work hard to become a good rider and to feel safe on the bike. Take lessons with a motorcycle teacher and don't listen too much about what kind of bikes others are recommending you. What kind of bike do you like? What look do you like? Go for that!
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our audience?
Listen to yourself and trust your own gut feeling, when it comes to almost everything. People have so much to say, but only you know what’s best for you.
