Full Throttle: Off Road Rally at the world's largest biker bar to launch Sturgis ®
The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally 2018 is the time of year that all motorcycle riders have been looking forward to since last years Sturgis Rally. It’s the time to completely embrace yourself within the motorcycle culture, surrounded by those that understand the freedom that comes with riding and the history that comes with the event.
Sturgis Motorcycle Rally 2018 will be a week of adventure and memories that riders remember fondly, and the event is nestled into one of the most beautiful states in the nation; where Harley Davidson motorcycles and American classic motorcycles get along with metric racers. It’s easy to enjoy the roads this area has to offer as you ride into the rally. The rally is always a huge turnout (we’re talking almost 800,000 people in the week alone) and the things to do while there are just as awesome.
Whether you’re looking to ride your bike to hidden gems through scenic surroundings, enjoy some cold ones at the Knuckle Saloon, or prepare your eardrums for bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd, the opportunities seem endless and never-ending. The Full Throttle Saloon off road rally will put on some awesome events and shows to enjoy, and trust us, you’re going to want to check some of these off your bucket list. If you’re heading into South Dakota to get ready for the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally 2018, the Full Throttle Off Road Rally is offering plenty entertainment options before the rally kicks off!
Here are some of the Full Throttle Off Road Rally events you have to look forward to, and exactly what you can expect:
Wednesday, July 25th, 2018:
Rhett Ratton's Wall of Death
Honestly, virtually nothing will get your heart pumping like this. While I’ll always suggest safe riding, some riders can do things on motorcycles that don’t seem to be physically possible, and Rhett is no exception. He executes the act better than anyone, but watching it for yourself is the only way you’ll know for sure! While the “Wall of Death” has been around since as early as 1911, Rhett takes it to a whole other level. When else will you see someone seemingly defy gravity? This is not going to be something you want to miss, and it’s a sure thing to get your blood pumping before the rally beings! The first showing at the Off Road Rally starts at 2 PM on July 25th, so make sure you get there early to get a good spot!
Plinko Game to Win Prizes
Don’t worry; this isn’t going to be your average “Price is Right” game of Plinko. And while the one negative is that you won’t be able to meet Bob Barker, the prizes you could win will make up for that loss. If you’re looking to test out your competitive nature against other riders, look no further, and let the games begin! The game will be located in the vendor area of the Off Road Rally, and it starts at 4 PM, so if you want your shot at a win, try not to be late!

Test the new Polaris Demos
It wouldn't be an off road rally without some off road vehicles! Sure, your soft spot might be linked with your two-wheeler, but this is your chance to test out how much fun a four-wheeler can be! Polaris might just be the top brand for adventure ATVs and UTVs, and if you’ve ever wanted to experience what the ride is like, there’s no better way to start off the rally than by testing out some new wheels! It’s bound to get crowded quickly, but it will be running from 9 AM to 5 PM during the Off Road Rally, so you should have no issues getting a fun test drive!
Bad 2 'Da Bone Competition
Wonder what an ATV or UTV the size of a tractor would look like? Yeah, me too, but if you have the chance to watch this competition, you won’t have to wonder. This is a competition that involves finding the biggest and craziest looking ATV or UTV, and trust us, the looks can get really crazy very quickly. But there’s no better time to embrace interesting and custom rides than now, so make sure you’re there by 3 PM to get a look at who’s competing and help determine who will reign supreme.

Sled Pull Competition
You know how I was just talking about tractors? Well, Full Throttle has decided to change their purpose for the entertainment of everyone else. While “Sled Pulling” might leave you with an image of nine Siberian Huskies pulling a sled through the arctic, that’s not exactly what you’ll get with this. It will involve way more wheels, way more horsepower, and cheering that will make your eardrums rattle. It’s just something you’re going to have to see for yourself. If you’re interested in joining, registration will start at 11 AM sharp, with an event start time of 1 PM.
Jackyl in Concert
This one is pretty self-explanatory, and probably one of the events that Full Throttle attendees are most looking forward to. You can’t prepare for the rally without blessing your ears with great music, from a band that’s always been a crowd favorite every single year. A huge part of the week has always been bikes, events, and awesome band lineups to make each day a memorable one. Jackyl never fails to impress, so make sure you grab a spot before the 7 PM start time to get as close as you can!
Saturday, July 28th, 2018:
Mud Bog Competition
While it would probably pain you to even think about your beautiful bike riding through the mud, that’s an off-road ride's middle name, so enjoy watching someone else get down and dirty with their ride. Mud Bog competitions are always a blast to watch, but if you’re afraid of a little mud, you might want to stand in the back...maybe the way back. So while you might not have to show up too early for this one to grab a spot, it starts at 11:30 AM and it’s not something you’ll want to miss.
Full Throttle Party in Downtown Sturgis
You didn’t think there was going to be a wild party to help prepare you for the upcoming rally? Well, your expectations are a little out of line, because it’s practically a requirement. Full Throttle really knows how to have a good time, so don’t miss their party from 2 PM to 5 PM in downtown Sturgis. It’s going to get pretty packed pretty quickly, but what else would you expect?
Poker Run Competition
Because you didn’t honestly think there wasn’t going to be a Poker Run, right? They’re one of the most fun things to do with your motorcycles and off-road vehicle, because it gives you the chance to enjoy a ride, meet some new fellow riders, and spark that competitive nature to see who can get the best hand. And maybe you’re not even interested in winning, but it’s a fun part of the culture that you’ll probably regret not being a part of. If you want to participate, it kicks off at 2 PM. But let’s be safe people, so not drinking and riding.
There are a seemingly endless selection of things to look forward to from Full Throttle the week leading up to the rally, and if you want to see other details, go ahead and visit this page to get all the information you need. It’s going to be an awesome time, and if you’re one of the lucky riders that are able to participate in the festivities, we’ll try and hide our envy.
