Review of the 2017 Ferrari T California
Anytime a Ferrari passes, you can’t help but gawk. It’s a beautiful machine that catches everyone’s eye no matter where you might be, and for good reason.
Next to Porsche and Lamborghini, Ferrari is the most sought-after exotic sports car in the world. True, it doesn’t hold a candle to the Bugatti La Voiture Noire, but what does? Unless you’re a Saudi prince or Jeff Bezos’ offspring, you won’t be seeing that car in your driveway anytime soon. The Ferrari California T is just a super cool car that continues the sterling Ferrari reputation as a luxury performance vehicle. That reputation does include, however, a hefty price tag. But, just because I could never afford this vehicle doesn’t mean you can’t. Start saving all of your pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, and dollar bills now.

2017 Ferrari California T Review
Interestingly, the California T was developed as something an everyday customer could enjoy driving. Ferrari’s Product Manager Pietro Virgolin put it succinctly, “We already have massive sports cars in our lineup. The California T is for the customer who wants to use the car daily, but they don't want to use it at the track.” Who knew Ferrari would dip into the daily-driver customer base?
The 2017 California T is better looking and more luxurious than its previous model years. It features a folding hard top convertible that is as futuristic as it comes. New for the 2017 is the “Handling Speciale” or HS package that adds stiffer springs to reduce body roll, quicker steering response, an upgraded front grille and rear air extractor, as well as an interior front badge to show off to your passengers. If you’re unwilling to shell out $8,120 for this upgrade, it wouldn’t be a bad idea considering the car doesn’t change much at all with the HS package.
Standard California T features include a navigation system with Bluetooth and AppleCarPlay connectivity and bucket-seat interior with leather everywhere you look. On the exterior, fog lights, custom spoiler, wind deflector, 19-inch alloy wheels, heated mirrors, and a power convertible top are all featured. For the low (according to Ferrari) price of $200,000, you can have one of these California T’s. However, you can find them for closer to $150,000 if you look in the right places.

What It Is…
- Beautifully stylish.
- An “affordable” option out of the Ferrari lineup.
- Comprised of the usual luxurious interior that makes Ferrari famous.
What It Isn’t…
- As fast as its Ferrari siblings.
- A good idea to drive on the race track.
- Kind to taller drivers.
